Hi,
I have a 2nd generation iPod Touch that I use on an iPod dock nearly everyday. I didnt realise that when the iPod was in the dock, if i touched the screen or tried to select something it was damaging the USB connector in the iPod itself. Now when i put it in the dock the connection is really loose and most of the time it won't acknowledge that it's plugged in unless i put something behind the iPod to brace it. I'm now starting to have trouble charging it and connecting it to the computer. Is there anything I can do to try and fix it - or will Apple have to fix it for me? Do you know what kind of price it might be to fix?
Thanks :) xHow to fix the USB connection on my iPod?
This is why the dock adapter came with your iPod. Older docks used to come with ten different sizes of them so you would always have the right one. If you're already having trouble with it, you'll have to have Apple repair it. In the meantime, you should just charge it with a cable instead of on the dock. If it gets damaged any more than it already is, it may not be able to charge either way and then it's useless until you can have it repaired.
