How can i keep my internet connection stable?

My internet connection says 100mbps, and I've usually only ever been able to download at a rate of 90kb/s. Every now and then though, it hikes up to a max of 950kb/s but then goes back down in a coupla days. What can i do to make sure it stays high?How can i keep my internet connection stable?
100 mbps doesn't mean that you can download with that speed.





you should keep in mind that my ethernet cable connected at the back of your computer to modem can carry data with a speed of 100 mbps
