How long should it take to upload a 3 minute video to youtube?

i have a 5m connection, but i usually get 2.5 - 3.5 on my laptopbut this crap takes foreeeeever.








and half the time it times out.





I bought a $1000 Sony camcorder to put videos up for my familym, and i dont hardly ever do it cause its so damned slow...How long should it take to upload a 3 minute video to youtube?
It shouldn't take too much more than five minutes, of course how well your computer runs and how good the internet connection is could make it more like ten. Still, it doesn't take a terribly long time, at least not as long as I originally thought it would.How long should it take to upload a 3 minute video to youtube?

it takes quit a while.my internet is okay and it takes up to 10-20 minutes and stuff.
5 m. shouldn't take very long then.





i uploaded a 1 min vid that took 1 hour +
thats the download speed, upload speeds are only a fraction of that 2.5-3.5 connection. it also depends on the resolution of the video. a widescreen high def video that is 3 mins long is about 100 megabytes and at the speed of 300kb/s it would take around 20-40 mins. not sure, just making a shot in the dark

On the upload page, it states that it takes 1-10 minutes per mb to upload. A high speed connection should be 1 or 2 minutes per mb. YouTube does take a long time to upload videos and it does require patience!


Leave the computer for a while and find something else to do, then come back and it should be uploaded.
My current upload is 5 mins. with a 100mbps of internet connection. since you got 500mbps? well quite fast. I have three answers for you. Maybe that time the server of youtube.com is having slow connection and by wich video streaming is poor also. 2nd try to check your taskbar maybe you got alot of online application such as torrents, messenger, and many other things that would interrupt the connetcion better close them all. 3rd but lastly, it will rarely happen, . . . . . Its your Browser. try to check any among of these. If symptoms persist insult your doctor. hehehe good day
