WEIRD internet problem, unbelievable, ! help needed ASAP?

Basically my laptop stopped connecting to our sky internet connection after my dad accidently shut it and opened it again (i think by his mac not by power switch) and once he opened it again my laptop picks it up but when i try connecting to it, it asks for the password... I put it in... then puts me through to trouble shoot (i have windows7) anyway so i try everything from turning it off for 30 seconds to waht ever 3 days pass still not working... i used my brothers Wireless usb adapter on my laptop, and through that the internet started working, so i thought hmm? maybe its my built in wireless adapter, so i went to my friends house with my laptop, i tried connecting to his nternet to make sure its my built in adapter, but it worked? i come home and it doesnt work on my internet connection? how the hell do i fix this?WEIRD internet problem, unbelievable, ! help needed ASAP?
Simplest thing is to remove the WiFi adaptor, the network key saved is incorrect.

From device manager (use start search) open network adaptors, right click on the Wireless and choose to remove (don't un-install the driver).

2 choices, restart computer or in device manager, highlight very top item and right click then scan for hardware changes, allow driver to install in both case and attempt to re-connect.

Make sure you show characters for the key and ensure you use the CoRRect cAse, it is case sensitive.WEIRD internet problem, unbelievable, ! help needed ASAP?
You can try deleting that computer from your router before trying to connect again..

Might have been some remaining data in that ';account'; that causes this though...

but still just a guess..
well there maby a firewall on your pc that is not letting you conect to it
Your friend probably has an unsecured network so yours connected right away. The shutdown may have lost the wifi setup.

Assuming you have not done this yet: Click that wifi icon down at lower right. Click on Show All Networks. Then in there somewhere (may be diff for Win7) find ';setup wireless network';. Go through that and give it the SSID and security key for your router. That should do it.
